Wearable’s are set to transform the business world, with Juniper Research expert’s predicting that the use of this technology will almost quadruple over the next few years, from 19 million in 2014 to 70 million devices in 2018.

WYOD (Wear Your Own Device) has the potential to improve business productivity as employees bring wearables to work. However, with WYOD in the workplace on the rise, security concerns will no doubt increase for IT departments, if wearables are being used to access company information. This will be especially important in data sensitive sectors such as finance, legal and recruitment.

Making sure your Enterprise Mobility policy safeguards against lost or stolen wearables is one way to reduce the data security risk of WYOD. Now is the time to start thinking now about how to deal with WYOD, or suffer the security consequences later.
