Andrew Jackson, CEO at enterprise mobility and IT specialist Intercity Technology, has joined the board of Warwick-based software development start-up, 3D Technologies.
Jackson has taken on the responsibility of technology board advisor alongside his position at Intercity Technology. In his new role, Jackson will be assisting in the development of the company’s first product, Moasure.
The innovative Moasure app is unique in that it uses gyroscopes and accelerometers – the same technology that is used to guide rockets through space – to measure rotation and g-force, enabling users to accurately measure angles and distances of up to 300ft, using just their smartphone.
The patented consumer app, which has reached number one in the ‘Utilities’ category on the Apple App Store* in over 100 countries so far, can be used to replace tape measures, spirit levels and other traditional measuring devices. This will be particularly beneficial for DIY, estate agents, interior design or landscaping tasks.
Intercity is also dedicated to staying ahead of the curve when it comes to innovation and has recently invested £10 million into the development and launch of its own patented global unified communications solution, Touch Technology.
Commenting on his new role, Jackson said: “As a forward-thinking technology business, we always have our finger on the pulse when it comes to new ideas and innovations. 3D Technologies is no different and its unique application which uses aerospace technology to meet consumer demand is a powerful indication of what the company can achieve in the future.”
Alan Rock, founder and managing director at 3D Technologies, added: “We’re immensely proud of our technology and having Andrew on the board as an advisor will no-doubt help to further advance our innovations. We are looking forward to working closely with Andrew and discovering what we can achieve together.”
