Intercity have been awarded a Platinum EcoVadis accreditation!

EcoVadis is regarded as the worlds most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, so we are incredibly proud to be recognised for our dedication to protecting the environment and being a responsible business. Our Platinum recognition level is based on how well we have integrated the principles of our Sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy into our business and management systems and our performance across four drivers – Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. We scored incredibly high across the board, contributing to our overall score of 79/100.

In addition to our Platinum EcoVadis rating, we have placed in the top 1% of organisations taking the assessment, meaning not only are we achieving our ESG strategy, but we are industry leaders in sustainable business practices.

Knowing the importance of conserving the environment, everyone at Intercity has worked incredibly hard to embed sustainable business practices at the heart of our organisation. Our core values of We Care, We Never Stand Still, and We Make it Happen guide our approach to the implementation of our ESG strategy. We have aligned our goals with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), a system which recognises ending poverty goes together with improving health and education, reducing inequality, and spurring economic growth – all while tackling climate change. All our colleagues undergo compulsory training on environmental awareness, waste and energy management and sustainable development. As a result, this year we have successfully made all our offices and data centres carbon neutral. Our ESG strategy is supported by our ISO14001 Certification in Environmental Management, showing we don’t just plan an effective policy, we see it through!

Despite this incredible achievement, we always want to Do More to keep our planet safe.
