INTERCITY HOSTS MINISTER PAUL SCULLY, PARLIAMENTARY UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE (MINISTER FOR TECH AND THE DIGITAL ECONOMY)

On the 29th March, Birmingham-based technology partner, Intercity, was honoured to host Minister Paul Scully, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy). During the visit, Intercity showcased the remarkable journey it's been on since 1985, including the record growth achieved in 2022.

Intercity's core mission is to be the best technology partner to work for and with. MP Paul Scully met with Intercity's graduates and apprentices, learning about how the company has supported their careers and personal development. The visit ended with a tour of Intercity’s cutting edge Information Security Operations Centre (ISOC), with an overview of how the company supports its partners in navigating the ever changing landscape of cybersecurity.

MP Paul Scully also met with Intercity's Project Management team and was impressed by their commitment and focus on delivering excellent customer service. Intercity proudly showed him its service excellence award, which it recently won at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards.

The Minister met with Intercity colleagues, including members of the ISOC (Information Security Operations Centre) team to discuss the importance of cybersecurity.

The minister was also shown what makes the Intercity culture: People power at the heart of everything, nurturing and supporting colleagues throughout their careers in technology.

During the visit, the challenge of bringing new talent into the tech industry to support its growth was discussed. Intercity is working closely with local universities and schools to reduce the skills gap. The company is firm believer in its people power and is on the lookout for new talent to join the fast-growing team.
